My Manchester Jewellery Week

A Manchester Moment
Jewellery celebrating art, music and collaboration

Manchester Jewellery Week was an opportunity to explore new ideas, create some special pieces and exhibit alongside fellow contemporary jewellers. Bringing together my love of sea glass, art and Manchester’s musical heritage, these designs each have their own story.

Selected pieces are now available to purchase, offering the chance to own a little part of that experience.

Take a look at my catalogue from the week.

Music into jewellery

Created for Manchester Jewellers Network’s '24 Carat Party People' exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery Shop, my 'Sometimes' necklace and 'Resonance' ring explore the connection between sound and the sea.

Inspired by James’s song 'Sometimes', flowing silver forms echo the movement of soundwaves and water. Blue and rare orange milk sea glass introduce colours drawn from the record’s artwork. The silver Waveform designs continue this exploration of rhythm and movement.

A collaboration with Jo Lavelle Jewellery

Created for '30 Years: 30 Rings' at HOME Manchester as part of Manchester Jewellery Week, this ring brings together my hand-shaped milk sea glass and Jo Lavelle’s signature silver tags.

Combining elements of both our practices, the ring celebrates the possibilities of working together, bringing contrasting textures and forms into one distinctive piece.

This ring is available to purchase and is currently held by Jo Lavelle. Please contact me to discuss the price, sizing and purchase arrangements, and I’ll liaise with Jo on the next steps.

Art and history

My brooch for ACJ’s City of Suffragettes exhibition draws on the 1913 suffragette attack at Manchester Art Gallery. Combining beach-found safety glass, hand-shaped milk sea glass and sterling silver, it explores the story through colour, material and construction.

The brooch is currently on display in the City of Suffragettes exhibition at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Please contact me if you’re interested in purchasing it, and I can advise on availability and arrangements.
