Sometimes Necklace – James Inspired Soundwave Necklace
“As featured in the Financial Times”
Created especially for '24 Carat Party People', an exhibition by Manchester Jewellers Network as part of Manchester Jewellery Week 2026, held at Manchester Art Gallery Shop. The exhibition celebrated Manchester's rich musical heritage, with eleven contemporary jewellers creating pieces inspired by the city's iconic music scene.
The 'Sometimes Necklace' takes its inspiration from the Manchester band James and their song 'Sometimes', particularly the lyric “takes my head, puts my ear to his and I swear I can hear the sea.”
Handcrafted in sterling silver, the necklace features layered, textured silver forms that echo the movement of soundwaves and the rolling waves of the sea. At its centre sits a beautifully shaped piece of rare blue milk sea glass, beach-found and carefully cut and polished by hand.
The blue and orange milk sea glass (Resonance Ring) as chosen to reflect the colours of the original *Sometimes* EP artwork, creating another connection between the music and the design.
This one-of-a-kind necklace brings together my love of Manchester music, my fascination with soundwaves and my enduring connection to the sea.
Originally exhibited at Manchester Art Gallery as part of Manchester Jewellery Week 2026, this unique piece is now available to purchase directly from my studio.
